Cree Prophecy

When all the trees have been cut down,

when all the animals have been hunted,

when all the waters are polluted,

when all the air is unsafe to breathe,

only then will you discover you cannot eat money.

So true - looks like our generation (and the next one) are on a collision course with many of these aspects (of which we can either change or ignore). I am really quite saddened by the lack of environmentalism the most developed countries have - yet they are easily the worst abusers of the earth. Maybe we can each do our part on a small level and hope this generation 'gets it right'.

I think what is even more important, is the fact that many may realize that you cannot eat money, but ignore that fact that this is not the end of life, we have an eternity to prepare for...so addtionaly you can't take money with you either...

"we have an eternity to prepare for" (MyGarden)

I think your right on about the point of the money but I would ask 'how do we prepare for eternity exactly?'. Isn't it our concerns about the here and now that truly matter?

Do you remember this question? If you were to face Jesus today, are you ready? Am I ready to die today? Am I doing what I know to be true from God's word, theotritcally do I have my heart ready for entering heaven? Have I accepted Jesus into my heart, and have I been doing what His word says? We can live for ourselves with temporal things that definitely show what kind of person we are, but are we taking care of our own heart? #1 Have I asked Jesus to become the Lord of my life? Am I living the life that He has asked me to live on this earth?

That is how to prepare for eternity, and the other things are to do what we know He asks us to do here on this earth...Is that the premise that people are living by, or is it solely on making money?...We can't take money to heaven, but we can take our loved ones if they are saved...so the real treasures we have is seeing those we love in Heaven with us for an eternity.

Time to get you involved in some of the deeper issues behind these questions - sorry if I come off a little wired.

"If you were to face Jesus today, are you ready? Am I ready to die today?" (MG)

I would point out that neither of those question appear as part of the gospels or letters...secondly, this is the type of question I would not feel fit asking a child concerning this faith...seems a little fear-mongerish to me in some ways.

"theoritcally do I have my heart ready for entering heaven?" (MG)

I would say this is quite the impossible task - since for some death happens so suddenly to allow for no prep time. What if some Christian person is in an accident but just prior to that they were swearing and cutting someone down (and swore they would not forgive the person that wronged them) - do they still get into heaven even though they 'were not quite prepared'?

"have I been doing what His word says?" (MG)

Very simple question here - is our salvation based on our works (what we can do to follow Christ) or what Christ did 2000 years ago on a cross in Jerusalem? What is the human role here exactly?

"We can live for ourselves with temporal things that definitely show what kind of person we are, but are we taking care of our own heart?" (MG)

But doesn't the heart reveal itself in actions the person committs (in the present)? A murderer is labeled that because of his/her actions - which I think are the obvious extensions of someone's actual belief system.

We all have our own perspective, and mine is that I know I need to live as if Jesus were returning in the next moment, and with that in mind it helps me to make better choices with the moments that I have right now, so that I am taking care of my heart condition daily and from moment to moment, do we fail?, yes, we do, and I know that we serve a Saviour that knows that, and with that in mind, I feel better also...I am not one for debate with these types of things, but this is just my own understanding of where I need to be and what I need to do. Am I more right than the next person? I don't think that is the place I am taking my perspective from, rather it is I am taking care to do what I know to do, and that way I have a peace about how I handle my life, and I don't have a lot of regrets on how I handle my life...
